Users

User accounts allow people to authenticate with Nexus211 to use the platform. This can include both 211 personnel, or members of the public seeking services and resources.

Each user ideally maps to a single person in the real world. However, one user account can be tied to multiple profiles.

Where direct interaction between a user and the platform is required, the "unit of identity" is an email address. This is necessary to ensure that each user has a unique, verifiable, and standard identity token to use when authenticating to the platform. In all cases, the user must verify access to the email address upon signup.

As a user, people can perform the following tasks:

  • Change their login details, such as email and password.
  • Update data in their user account (first name and last name).
  • Create or join an organization. This will create a profile that links the user and the organization.

How to create a user

Currently, the only way to create a new user is signing up via Nexus211 ID.
